Art in 20th-century art has many styles. You can find modern art, abstract expressionism, and action painting. Henri Matisse (Vincent van Gogh), Edward Hopper, and others are among our artists. These artists made a significant impact on art in the 20th century, and it is worth taking a look at. We also have paintings of the American Impressionism, New York School, and New York School.
Henri Matisse
Henri Matisse (French painter) was a popular figure in France during the 20th Century. He was born in Bohain-en-Vermandois, France in 1869 and studied law in Paris before turning to painting full time. Matisse attended the famed Saturday evenings with Gertrude Stein, and soon moved to Nice where he remained for his entire life.
Matisse, the young man, was brought up in a middle-class home. His father was a grain- and hardware merchant. His mother was an educator. Henri was educated at the College de Saint-Quentin, then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. While recovering from an acute appendicitis episode, Henri's interest in painting began.

Matisse was influenced as a young artist by post-Impressionists and late Impressionists. Although Manet and Van Gogh played a major role in his development, Matisse began to take influences from many other sources by the end of the century. The 'Primitive art movement' he discovered during this period gave him new ways of expression and perspectives.
Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh had a profound impact on the development modern art. His paintings often remember significant events in his life. For example, his mid-1887 Paris series was painted when he was first exposed to painters such as Claude Monet and Paul Cezanne. His Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat, for example, features heavy paint strains that expand over the canvas. This painting is highly intentional and includes a variety of physiognomic representations.
Van Gogh, a French Reformed minister and bookseller, was born 1853 in Arles. He was born to a Dutch Reformed priest and a bookseller. After a stint in various trades, Van Gogh became a painter when he was 27. Van Gogh completed nearly 900 paintings in his decade-long professional career (1880-1890). Even though he lived a short life, Van Gogh still managed to leave an impression on the rest of the world.
Edward Hopper
Edward Hopper was an American illustrator. He was born in Nyack, New York, and raised in a middle-class family. His parents owned a dry goods store and introduced him to the arts at an early age. After high school, he studied illustration at the New York School of Art.

Edward Hopper's work is represented in many major museums and art collections worldwide. They are among the many exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Many of these artworks are available as posters or prints.
Josephine Nivision was also married to the artist. Hopper was inspired by Nivison, who modelled nearly all of the female figures. She donated her husband’s art to New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art.
